Build Style Tier List

Bambu Farm named three apartment fantasies on the store page. This list ranks those three for a glass box in the sky. It is a taste call with constraints: 7,500 parts by default, pixels for paint, and short average sessions. For room-by-room steps, use build ideas. This page is only the rank and the why.

S — Modern

Modern wins because emptiness is a feature. Long sofas, one table, and a calm floor let the city view do the work. You spend fewer parts, you paint less often, and guests can walk. It is the best first save and the best screenshot style when you have twenty minutes. Pair it with S-tier scale furniture from the furniture tier.

Weakness: it looks unfinished if you stop at a single chair. Commit to a palette. Paint and pixels matters more here than in a busy tropical room, because every wrong color shows.

A — Pool

Pool is the most “penthouse” of the three if you place water along the glass. It photographs well and gives friends something to stand around. It costs more parts than modern and needs dry paths. Wiring a light under the edge is a nice extra, not a requirement. See wiring only after the basin exists.

Weakness: a center pool splits the apartment and wastes circulation. If you already bump the block limit, keep the water thin.

B — Tropical

Tropical is the fun catalog. Plants forgive bad angles. It is also the easiest style to overbuild. Eight bushes later you have no sofa and no cap left. Cap plants at three types and keep a spine from elevator to glass. Co-op makes this worse; set a plant budget in invite friends.

Weakness: it can hide the view that makes this game different from a ground-floor builder.

Hybrids

Pool plus two palms is still A-tier. Tropical plus a tiny indoor puddle is usually a downgrade. Modern plus a single lounge chair on the balcony is still S-tier. Hybrids fail when both themes try to be the hero.

What we will not rank

There is no official horror, castle, or meme tier. You can build those. They just fight the glass penthouse the store sold you. If a Beta update adds a named style, it will land here after we see the catalog, not before.

Premium exclusive blocks can support any rank as accents. They do not move tropical to S by themselves. Fly Mode helps pool ceilings and hanging vines but does not change the letter. Use the gamepass tier list for those buys.

How to pick tonight

  • Twenty minutes, first save: modern.
  • Friends coming over: pool, thin and walkable.
  • You already have a skeleton save: tropical as a branch slot.

Save the skeleton first (save and load). Rank letters are useless if you overwrite the only copy. Codes will not unlock a style. The Codes Hub remains empty, and that is fine — these three looks are already in the free catalog.

When a patch adds a new lounge or a new palm, revisit A and B before you rebuild S. Modern rarely needs a new part to stay finished.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about the penthouse sandbox.

What is the best style in Build Your Apartment?

Modern is the most reliable for the glass penthouse and the default part cap. Pool is the best social look if you keep water thin.

Is tropical bad?

No. It is B-tier because it is easy to over-plant, not because the look is weak.

Do I need gamepasses for S-tier?

No. Passes help height, paint, and cap. They do not define the style rank.

Can I rank my own meme apartment?

You can build it. This list only ranks the three styles named on the official store page.
