Build Your Apartment Save Slot Planner
A slot library that survives Beta patches and helpful friends.
Write this list before you open the load menu. The planner assumes you have read save and load. It does not invent a hidden kilobyte meter — the 3.6 MB figure comes from the Unlimited Save Slots pass text.
Slot roles
Slot A — Shell. Walls, floors, lights, empty walkways. No clutter. This is the file you duplicate in your head when you start a new style. If the UI uses numbers, write “1 = shell” on a note.
Slot B — Daily driver. The apartment you would show a friend tonight. One style only. See build ideas and the style tier.
Slot C — Experiment. Wiring, pixel art, or a joke room. This is the only slot guests should be allowed to wreck. Invite friends belongs here, not on Slot B.
If you only have two slots, drop C. Never drop A.
Memory budget
Unlimited Save Slots says you could hold 200-plus builds before 3.6 MB hurts. That is an average of light files. One 15,000-part monster can weigh like many studios. If load times grow, delete C before you delete A. Max Block Increase adds parts; it does not add memory. Pair this page with block limit.
Naming rules
- Style + date, not “final.”
- No two slots named the same word.
- After a Beta patch, append “post-update” only if you already repaired the file.
Session checklist
- Load A if you are starting a new look; load B if you are continuing.
- Host is the only person who presses Load.
- Save B before anyone opens paint or wiring.
- If a guest wants to play, copy the idea onto C first — or say no.
- After the session, walk B alone and save again.
When to buy the pass
If you already overwrite B to try tropical, buy Unlimited Save Slots. If you have never filled A, do not buy it yet. The gamepass picker will tell you the same thing.
What this planner will not do
It will not back up files to your PC. Roblox holds the data. It will not recover a slot you loaded over. It will not redeem a code into a new slot — and no code is verified anyway (Codes Hub).
If a script claims to export apartments, refuse it. That is script safety territory. Official collection is in-game saves plus your own screenshots.
Keep this page open on a phone while you play if you are the kind of host who forgets which number is the shell. The penthouse is cheap to furnish and expensive to rebuild from memory.
If you share a computer, put the slot map on a sticky note on the monitor. The next user will not remember that 2 is sacred. They will remember that Load is a big button. Hosts who skip this step eventually tell a story about a pool that used to exist. The planner is how that story stays fictional.
After a long night, rename in the note even if the in-game UI cannot rename. “2 used to be daily, now 2 is broken tropical” is the kind of line that saves a Saturday. Future you is a different player. Write for that person.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about the penthouse sandbox.
How many slots do I need?
A shell and a daily driver are enough. Add an experiment slot if you host friends or test wiring.
What is the 3.6 MB limit?
The Unlimited Save Slots pass lists a 3600 KB memory ceiling per user, likely after many or very dense builds.
Should guests save?
No. The host saves. Guests can work on an experiment slot you chose on purpose.
Can I back up a save outside Roblox?
Not through any official tool described on the store page. Screenshots are your only extra copy.
